An Indonesian-built replica inspired by the short-lived Mini Coupe is being offered for sale, but beneath its heavily redesigned bodywork sits a 2011 Suzuki Swift.

The project is based on the Mini Coupe (R58), a two-door, two-seat model produced from 2011 to 2015 alongside the related Mini Roadster. Rather than starting with a Mini, the builder transformed a Suzuki Swift to recreate the coupe’s distinctive shape.

Mini-inspired exterior redesign

Only a handful of the donor car’s exterior components appear to remain, including the windshield, A- and B-pillars, doors, and mirrors. Nearly every other visible panel has been replaced or modified with Mini-inspired styling.

The front features round headlights, a custom grille, a redesigned bumper, and a new hood. It does not replicate every Cooper S detail, however, as the build lacks the hood scoop, chrome headlight surrounds, and wheel-arch cladding associated with that model. Side skirts and white alloy wheels add to the sporty appearance.

Creating the Mini Coupe profile required cutting away the rear section of the Swift’s roof. The car now has a sloping rear window, a fixed rear wing, and a fully reworked tailgate. Mini-style taillights with Union Jack graphics and a sporty rear bumper with a diffuser complete the rear treatment.

Despite the extensive makeover, “Swift Sport” decals make the donor vehicle’s identity clear.

Original Suzuki cabin and powertrain

Inside, the Swift’s origins are more obvious. The original dashboard and Suzuki steering wheel remain in place, while the seats and door panels have been retrimmed in leatherette with diamond-quilted inserts. The interior also includes floor mats bearing Toyota Racing Development lettering, adding another brand to the unusual combination.

The listing identifies the donor as a 2011 ZC21S-generation Swift. With no performance modifications mentioned, the car is likely still powered by the standard naturally aspirated 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with a CVT automatic transmission. That setup differs substantially from the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine used in the range-topping Mini Coupe JCW.

Listed for sale in Indonesia

The replica is located in the Sewon region of Indonesia and is listed on Facebook Marketplace for IDR 129,000,000, or approximately $7,200. The seller states that the electrical systems work, the engine has no leaks, and the interior is clean.
