Volkswagen is offering major incentives on remaining ID.4 inventory in the United States as it prepares to replace the electric SUV with the upcoming ID. Tiguan. The largest discount applies to 2025 models, with buyers and lessees eligible for a $12,500 customer bonus through November 2.

The incentive is applied directly to the vehicle’s sticker price. Volkswagen’s inventory search does not separate vehicles by model year, but hundreds of ID.4s from the 2025 and 2026 model years appear to remain available across the country.

Discounts also apply to 2026 ID.4 models

Customers who cannot locate a 2025 ID.4 can receive a $6,000 discount on a 2026 model. That offer is also available until November 2.

The 2026 ID.4 starts at $45,095 for the entry-level Pro before destination charges, or $46,570 with destination included. Military members, veterans, and first responders may qualify for an additional $500 discount when purchasing a 2026 ID.4.

The incentives arrive after Volkswagen announced that the ID. Tiguan will replace both the ID.4 and ID.5. The ID.4’s US sales reached 37,789 vehicles in 2023, then fell to 17,021 in 2024. Sales recovered to 22,373 units in 2025, but only 2,205 were sold during the first six months of this year.

Local ID.4 production in Chattanooga, Tennessee, ended in April. The decline in sales and the end of production precede the company’s shift toward the ID. Tiguan, which has been shown in lightly camouflaged prototype form.

ID. Tiguan expected to replace the ID.4

The upcoming electric SUV is expected to have a substantially different appearance from the ID.4, with styling that more closely resembles the gasoline-powered Tiguan. Volkswagen has confirmed that European sales are due to begin at the start of next year, followed by a US launch.

Technical details remain limited. The ID. Tiguan is believed to use Volkswagen’s MEB+ platform and may receive newer, improved battery packs. The current ID.4 is offered with 58-kWh and 79-kWh battery options, with a maximum US driving range of 292 miles.
