Pakistani automaker Nora EV has unveiled the Metro, a compact electric vehicle whose styling draws heavily from Toyota’s Alphard and Vellfire minivans. Despite its full-size-minivan-inspired appearance, the Metro is only 3,900 millimeters (153.5 inches) long and uses a modest 4,000-watt electric motor.

Toyota-inspired exterior in a smaller package

The Metro borrows several visual elements associated with Toyota’s Japanese-market luxury minivans, including a large front grille, vertical air intakes with chrome detailing, and similar body surfacing. Its rear design includes a vertical tailgate, roof spoiler, and triangular taillights.

Unlike the Alphard and Vellfire, however, the Metro does not use powered sliding doors. Access to the rear seats comes through conventional hinged doors. The vehicle rides on 14-inch alloy wheels, reinforcing its considerably smaller proportions compared with the Toyota models that inspired its design.

Five-seat interior with basic equipment

The Metro has a five-seat cabin with styling and color combinations intended to give the interior a more premium appearance. Its dashboard includes a broad plastic panel that resembles a Mercedes-style wide display, although the actual infotainment screen is a smaller central unit.

Listed equipment includes Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, push-button start, air conditioning, power windows, and a reverse camera. The vehicle’s chassis originates in China, while Nora EV says it has been re-engineered for South Asian road conditions and improved ergonomics for taller occupants.

Small electric motor and multiple battery options

Propulsion comes from a single electric motor mounted at the rear. The motor produces 4,000 watts, equivalent to 5 horsepower or 4 kilowatts.

Nora EV plans to offer the Metro with lithium iron phosphate battery packs in three capacities: 9 kWh, 15 kWh, and 23.1 kWh. The largest pack is said to provide between 250 and 300 kilometers (155 to 186 miles) of driving range.

The company also plans to establish battery-swapping stations in Pakistan. An optional range-extender configuration is expected to use a three-liter gasoline tank and a small generator, which is said to add another 150 to 180 kilometers (93 to 112 miles) of range.

Nora EV lineup and expected pricing

Nora EV was founded in 2025 by Nousheen Azhar and Ali Raza. The company is working toward local production of components including bodywork stampings and lighting assemblies rather than simply assembling imported knockdown kits.

Its other vehicles include the E30 small electric SUV, which copies the design of the previous-generation Range Rover, and the Neo urban hatchback. At present, the E30 is the only model on sale, with a price starting at 1,889,000 Pakistani rupees ($6,800) before GST.

Nora EV has said the Metro will launch soon with a starting price below 3,000,000 Pakistani rupees, or approximately $10,800.
