Porsche will add two 911 GT3-focused driving programs to its Track Experience lineup in 2027, including a half-day drifting course priced at $1,500. Both programs will be held exclusively at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama.
The new offerings mark the first time Porsche Track Experience has dedicated an entire training program to one model. Every car used in the courses will be a 911 GT3, giving participants a chance to explore the sports car’s handling in a controlled training environment without purchasing one, which currently carries a $240,000 price tag.
GT Drift focuses on car control
The more accessible program is called GT Drift. It begins with a classroom session covering vehicle dynamics before moving to the skid pad for practical exercises.
The half-day curriculum includes trail braking, rotation exercises and dedicated drifting practice. The program is intended to teach drivers how to provoke and manage a slide, rather than simply allowing them to drive the car at speed.
At $1,500, GT Drift is still a significant expense for a half-day activity. However, the program combines professional instruction with access to a 911 GT3 in an environment designed for exploring its limits.
Masters GT requires previous Porsche training
The second addition, Masters GT, is a three-day program priced at $23,000. It is invitation-only and available to graduates of Porsche’s Masters RS course, meaning newcomers cannot enter simply by booking the most expensive Track Experience option.
The first day takes place at the Barber Proving Grounds and concentrates on advanced vehicle control. The following two days move to the racetrack, where participants alternate between open lapping and reviews of their driving data.
Porsche describes Masters GT as the highest level of training in its Track Experience program. The course will use the GT3 exclusively and include additional track time, individual coaching and detailed performance analysis.
The existing three-day Masters RS course costs $10,600, while the new Masters GT program is priced at more than twice that amount. Its structure and invitation-only format position it as an offering for experienced drivers rather than an introductory course.
Existing Porsche Track Experience courses
The new GT3 programs will join existing Porsche Track Experience offerings at Barber Motorsports Park and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Both venues joined the program this year.
At Barber, the one-day Precision course costs $2,500, while the corresponding Laguna Seca program is priced at $3,600. Two-day Performance training costs $5,000 at Barber and $6,700 at Laguna Seca.
The current three-day Masters course is priced at $6,600 at Barber and $9,200 at Laguna Seca. For drivers primarily interested in learning how to manage a 911 GT3 during a cornering slide, GT Drift will be the least expensive route into Porsche’s new model-specific training lineup.
