Jeremy Clarkson has created a one-off Jaguar F-Type using materials grown and produced on his Oxfordshire farm. Developed with designer Ian Callum, the coachbuilt roadster features flax-based composite body panels, farm-sourced interior materials and a heavily revised exterior.
The project will feature in Jeremy Grows a Car: A Clarkson’s Farm Special, which is scheduled to premiere globally on Amazon Prime in 2027. Before its television debut, Clarkson unexpectedly displayed the car at the Villa La Massa Excellence event in Tuscany, Italy.
A modified Jaguar F-Type
The donor car is a pre-facelift Jaguar F-Type roadster equipped with the supercharged 3.0-liter V6. The engine produces 380 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque, while the car retains its original rear-wheel-drive mechanical components.
Almost everything visible has been redesigned. Callum, the former Jaguar design chief responsible for the original F-Type and founder of Callum design studio, created the custom bodywork. The new panels are made from lightweight composite material manufactured using flax cultivated at Clarkson’s 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm.
The revised front end includes a new bumper with aerodynamic flaps and sculpted openings. Wider fender extensions have been added at both ends, while bronze alloy wheels use a five-spoke star-shaped design. The car is fitted with high-profile tires, which appear suited to its expected use around the farm.
Its exterior appears to be finished in Tonga Green. Custom details include a tractor emblem and “Flax-Type” lettering on the rear.
Farm-sourced cabin materials
The two-seat interior continues the agricultural theme. It uses tan leather described as being derived from Clarkson’s livestock, along with carpets woven from wool supplied by sheep raised on the farm. Tweed inserts add another farm-related material, while tractor logos are embossed into the headrests.
The result may represent one of the first Jaguars built with substantial organic materials, although the source does not establish that definitively. The car keeps the F-Type’s underlying powertrain while replacing its standard bodywork and cabin with a highly individual coachbuilt design.
First public appearance
Video from the Tuscany event provided an early look at the finished special before its planned Amazon Prime appearance. Clarkson also appears to have received a trophy for participating in the event, potentially in a concept category, although the exact award is not specified.
Reactions to the car have been mixed. Some social media commenters praised its specification, while others criticized the wheel design and noted apparent fitment issues around the front bumper. Additional details and behind-the-scenes footage are expected to emerge in the months before the show airs.
