Jeep has confirmed that a new Renegade is in development for Europe, although the successor may not arrive until as late as 2030. The planned model is intended to expand Jeep’s reach and support a larger European lineup.
The announcement comes roughly a year after production of the European-spec Renegade ended. Jeep’s original European Renegade debuted in 2014 and sold more than 610,000 units during an 11-year production run.
Jeep’s European lineup will expand
Jeep also outlined plans to grow its European range to six models by 2030. The lineup will include the current Avenger in the B-SUV segment and the current Recon in the D-SUV class.
A second D-SUV is expected to join the Recon in 2028. According to the supplied information, that model is expected to be developed with Chinese partner Dongfeng. A separate model positioned above the Renegade and aimed at the B-SUV Large segment was also previewed in a recent teaser image.
STLA One platform expected
Jeep has not yet released detailed information about the second-generation Renegade. However, the vehicle is expected to use Stellantis’ STLA One multi-energy architecture, a platform designed to support more than 30 battery-electric, hybrid, and combustion-powered vehicles.
Speaking at the Paris Motor Show, Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa said Peugeot will be the first Stellantis brand to use STLA One, ahead of the company’s other European and North American brands.
The future Renegade’s powertrain lineup has not been disclosed. The platform’s flexibility means electrified versions are possible, but Jeep has not specified which propulsion systems will be offered.
Jeep did confirm that the Renegade and all of its other new European models will be available with four-wheel drive. The company has not provided further details about the upcoming Renegade, including its design, specifications, or exact launch date.
