Chevrolet is updating its two least expensive vehicles for the 2027 model year with revised styling, larger displays, simplified trim lineups and a broader set of standard driver-assistance features. The Trailblazer also gains a new Z71 variant with hardware intended for light off-road use.
The 2027 Trailblazer Z71 will include standard all-wheel drive, an off-road-tuned suspension, an underbody skid plate and sport-terrain tires. Chevrolet has not yet provided details such as ground clearance, suspension travel or approach angle, leaving the model’s specific off-road capability unclear.
Trailblazer lineup and interior updates
The Trailblazer range will be reduced to an entry-level model, RS and Z71 trims. Inside, the Z71 features debossed front headrests and a Jet Black and Storm Sky Gray cabin with orange accents. Storm Sky Gray is a new interior color that will also be offered in the updated Trax.
A column-mounted shifter creates additional room for a redesigned center console. The console includes retractable cupholders that can be folded away to provide more storage space, while rear passengers gain dedicated HVAC vents. An AutoSense power liftgate will also be available.
Trax receives exterior and cabin changes
The Trax lineup will likewise consist of three trims: the entry-level model, RS and ACTIV. Its exterior revisions include a new grille, redesigned wheels, all-LED taillights and a revised liftgate. The RS receives 19-inch wheels, while the ACTIV continues with its distinct front-end design.
Inside, revised hexagonal side vents change the shape of the dashboard’s outer edges. A power liftgate will be available on the Trax for the first time.
More standard technology
Both SUVs will use upgraded electrical and software architecture and come with more than 20 standard safety and driver-assistance features. The list includes adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking assistance, a Safety Alert Seat and blind-zone steering assistance.
Standard equipment will also include reverse automatic braking, rear cross-traffic braking, side bicyclist alerts and intersection automatic emergency braking. Chevrolet is also fitting both models with an 11-inch digital instrument display and an 11.3-inch infotainment screen.
Google built-in with Gemini will be standard, while the newly available OnStar One package includes 12 months of services such as Wi-Fi hotspot capability and video streaming. Using those services requires customers to accept the associated data-sharing terms.
Timing and unanswered details
Chevrolet says the Trax and Trailblazer have surpassed a quarter-million deliveries year-to-date. The refreshed 2027 models are scheduled to arrive in spring 2027.
Pricing has not been announced, and the announcement does not specify whether either vehicle will receive powertrain changes. Those details remain unresolved for Chevrolet’s most affordable models.
