Stellantis’ U.S. sales were essentially unchanged in the third quarter, with 324,277 vehicles sold compared with 324,825 during the same period last year. The 548-vehicle decline masked significant differences among the automaker’s brands. Through September, Stellantis sales were up 3% at 958,463 vehicles.

Ram growth offsets Jeep losses

Ram delivered the strongest major-brand performance during the quarter. Sales rose 29% to 134,072 vehicles, led by the Ram 1500, which increased 73% to 76,650 units. Light-duty pickup sales are up 41% through the first nine months of the year.

Jeep moved in the opposite direction. Third-quarter sales fell 20%, from 160,564 to 128,542 vehicles, while year-to-date volume declined 8%. The Wrangler remained a bright spot, with quarterly sales up 5% to 44,757 and year-to-date sales up 2%. Gladiator sales dropped 9% for the quarter and 20% for the year, while Grand Cherokee volume fell 30% in the third quarter.

The Wagoneer S recorded only 146 sales during the quarter, a 96% decrease from 4,163 units a year earlier. Year-to-date sales totaled 519, compared with 10,426 during the same period last year. Jeep has placed the model on hiatus for 2026, with an updated version expected to return for 2027. Meanwhile, the new Cherokee Hybrid rose from 131 sales last year to 10,344 this quarter as production increased. Compass sales fell 62%.

Pacifica continues to support Chrysler

Chrysler sold 34,494 vehicles in the third quarter, with the Pacifica accounting for nearly all of the brand’s volume. Pacifica sales increased 6% during the quarter and 13% year to date, surpassing 100,000 units through September.

Dodge’s quarterly sales edged up 2%, although its year-to-date total remains down 3%. The brand sold 3,446 gasoline-powered Chargers during the quarter, compared with 233 electric Charger Daytonas. The Durango remained Dodge’s leading seller, with 22,755 units sold—up 14% and representing roughly 86% of the brand’s quarterly sales.

Alfa Romeo and Fiat remain at low volumes

Alfa Romeo sales fell 65% in the third quarter to 569 vehicles. Through September, the brand had sold 2,316 units, down from 4,778 a year earlier. Sales declined across the lineup: Giulia fell 47%, Stelvio dropped 42%, and Tonale decreased 79% to 199 vehicles for the quarter.

Fiat recorded just 54 U.S. sales during the quarter, including 52 examples of the 500e and two 500Xs. That was an 83% decline, while year-to-date sales stood at 291 vehicles. Sales of the 500e fell 82% for the quarter and 80% through September.

Ram also reported a single ProMaster City sale during the quarter, the only one recorded this year. The model disappeared after 2022, while its replacement is not scheduled to reach dealers until early 2027.
