Mahindra has introduced the Bolero Bold Edition in India, giving its rugged ladder-frame SUV a series of bronze exterior and interior accents. The package is available through authorized Mahindra dealers as an accessory upgrade, although pricing has not yet been disclosed.
The Bolero is often viewed as a lower-cost alternative to the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, though the two SUVs occupy very different levels of equipment, refinement, and price. Mahindra’s model has been sold since 2000, while the current third-generation version arrived in 2011 and received its latest facelift in 2025.
Bronze exterior and interior details
The Bold Edition adds bronze inserts to several exterior components, including the front bumper intake, grille, fog-light garnish, side cladding, mirror caps, and roof rails. The SUV also receives five double-spoke alloy wheels finished to match the new accents.
Inside, the black leatherette seats feature bronze detailing, with coordinated elements added to the floor mats. The accessory package also includes a rearview camera displayed through the infotainment screen, adding a practical feature for everyday use.
The Bolero retains seating for seven occupants and space for their luggage. Its overall design remains recognizably upright and utilitarian, maintaining the model’s established boxy silhouette.
Unchanged diesel powertrain
There are no reported mechanical changes for the Bold Edition. Power continues to come from a 1.5-liter three-cylinder diesel engine producing 76 horsepower, or 57 kW and 77 PS, along with 210 Nm of torque.
The engine sends power exclusively to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. Despite its off-road-inspired appearance, the Bolero Bold Edition does not add a different powertrain or drivetrain configuration.
The 2025 update brought the 3,995-mm-long SUV a redesigned grille, diamond-cut 15-inch wheels for the flagship trim, and additional color choices. That facelift also introduced a 9-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and a USB-C charging port, while leaving the vehicle’s distinctive shape largely intact.
Pricing and availability
Mahindra has not announced the price of the Bold Edition accessory package. The standard Bolero is priced between ₹8.57 lakh and ₹9.99 lakh in India, equivalent to approximately $9,000 to $10,500, depending on configuration.
That places the Bolero at a fraction of the cost of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The entry-level G-Class starts at ₹2.55 crore, or about $270,000, making it roughly 27 times more expensive than the most affordable standard Bolero.
