After nearly two decades without a U.S.-market model, the KTM X-Bow is set to reach American roads in the form of the limited-edition GT-XA. KTM partner Carbon Yard is handling the car’s federalization, with production limited to 30 examples.

Pricing is expected to begin at approximately $490,000. Orders are open with a required $50,000 deposit, while customer deliveries could begin next year if the GT-XA receives approval for sale in the United States without significant delays.

Related to the European GT-XR

The GT-XA is expected to closely follow the European-market X-Bow GT-XR. Compared with the original X-Bow, the GT-XR and GT-XA feature a full windshield and canopy-style roof, giving the cars a more road-oriented configuration while retaining their track-focused design.

The American model is expected to use Audi’s turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine. In the GT-XR’s 2027 Factory 600 configuration, the engine receives a new turbocharger, intake manifold and larger intercooler, producing 592 horsepower. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a dual-clutch transmission and mechanical limited-slip differential.

U.S.-specific equipment

KTM says the GT-XA will receive equipment tailored to American customers, including a suspension system with adjustable compression and rebound settings. A front-axle lift system will also be available, along with tire-pressure monitoring.

Buyers will be able to specify custom materials, exterior colors, trim and interior stitching. KTM describes the GT-XA as an effort to retain the X-Bow’s track capability while adding greater composure and comfort for street use.

Carbon-fiber construction and canopy roof

The GT-XA is built around a lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque and draws heavily from KTM’s GTX and GT2 race cars. Its most distinctive feature is a jet-fighter-inspired canopy that rises from the bodywork with the carbon-fiber roof, windshield and side windows.

Fixed seats will come as standard, while an adjustable pedal box and steering wheel will allow drivers to set their driving position. Each car will be assembled by hand at KTM’s facility.

Owners will also have opportunities to spend time with KTM engineers and attend exclusive driving experiences, including events at the Red Bull Ring. Carbon Yard will manage U.S. operations and distribute the GT-XA through selected partners.

KTM’s changed corporate structure

The X-Bow’s U.S. arrival comes after a major change for KTM. The company experienced severe financial difficulties in 2024, entered self-administration and faced hundreds of millions of euros in debt. Bajaj Auto acquired the motorcycle business, while the X-Bow operation was separated into its own company.

The X-Bow business is now backed by a Belgian investment consortium that includes racing driver Guillaume de Mévius.
