Karma Automotive has introduced the Eximius 1, the first vehicle from a new bespoke program limited to nine individually commissioned one-off models. Designed for track use, the four-seat special features an approximately 1,200-horsepower plug-in hybrid powertrain and will be delivered in 2027.

The Eximius 1 is based visually on the Karma Gyesera, although its exterior has been extensively redesigned. The donor car’s greenhouse, roofline, lighting, and doors remain, while the new model adds redesigned bumpers, large aerodynamic openings, diagonal daytime running lights, a vented hood, carbon-fiber fender extensions, wider side skirts, and a fixed rear wing.

A complex rear diffuser completes the aerodynamic package. The car is finished in Borealis Blue with white graphics and exposed carbon-fiber elements.

Four-seat racing-inspired cabin

Inside, the Eximius 1 uses four Recaro bucket seats upholstered in Borealis Blue and Moondust Alcantara. Carbon fiber is used extensively throughout the cabin, which also includes a motorsport-style emergency kill switch on the center console.

A custom carbon racing helmet is mounted between the rear seats, reinforcing the vehicle’s track-focused character while retaining seating for four occupants.

1,200-hp plug-in hybrid powertrain

The powertrain combines a 6.2-liter V8 engine with electric motors in a series plug-in hybrid configuration. Karma lists approximately 550 hp from the internal-combustion engine and 650 hp from the electric motors, for a combined output of around 1,200 hp.

Karma says the Eximius 1 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds and reach a top speed exceeding 200 mph. The company has also described it as the most powerful plug-in hybrid it has developed.

The V8’s source has not been identified in the supplied information, although its sound is described as resembling a General Motors engine.

Chassis and production details

The one-off is believed to use the aluminum spaceframe chassis associated with the earlier Fisker Karma and Karma Revero. Its handling hardware includes Öhlins semi-active suspension, wider tracks, carbon-ceramic brakes with two-piece slotted rotors, and 21-inch magnesium wheels.

The Eximius 1 is intended to remain unique and will not be repeated. Karma has not disclosed pricing, but deliveries are scheduled for 2027. The company’s new program is expected to produce nine bespoke vehicles in total, each created for a special client with individual styling and mechanical changes.
