Chery-owned Lepas has unveiled the Aura, a low-slung three-door concept that previews the brand’s “Leopard Aesthetics” design language and could influence its next generation of production models.

Established in 2025 for markets outside China, Lepas currently sells the L4, L6, and L8 SUVs. The Aura takes the brand in a different visual direction, combining elements of a shooting brake with a three-door hatchback.

Distinctive three-door proportions

The concept features a streamlined roof, a short hood, and a long wheelbase. Its side profile is defined by two large doors and heavily sculpted front and rear fenders, giving the vehicle a pronounced stance.

Five-hole alloy wheels add another styling detail. Their oval openings are intersected by very thin orange spokes, matching the concept’s contrasting exterior accents.

Aggressive front-end design

The Aura’s most notable feature is its front fascia, which uses a large enclosed grille with an integrated display extending toward the side air intakes. The design has visual similarities to the latest Audi RS5, while the slim LED headlights recall the recently introduced Audi A2 E-tron.

Lepas has used a related grille treatment on its L4 and L8 production SUVs, suggesting that the Aura’s front-end theme is connected to the broader design direction of the brand rather than being an isolated concept detail.

Display-based rear lighting

At the rear, the Aura has a short tail, a large diffuser, and oval-shaped taillights spanning the width of the vehicle. Although their form resembles the lighting on the Xiaomi SU7, the units are actually displays that can be customized.

The concept also appears to use one continuous glass panel for the greenhouse, with no visible pillars separating the sections.

Powertrain details remain undisclosed

Lepas has not provided powertrain specifications for the Aura. The brand described the concept as an exploration of “innovative electrified mobility,” but did not identify whether it uses a battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, or another powertrain.

Across its lineup, Lepas offers gasoline, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric systems sourced from Chery components.

Ivan Dulanović, Lepas’s chief designer, said the Aura “explores elegance through composure rather than decoration.” The company also said the concept’s proportions, surfaces, lighting, and color will help guide its next-generation production models.
