Honda has updated the Vezel for the 2027 model year in Japan, adding subtle exterior revisions, more standard cabin equipment, and a new Black Sport Style package. The compact crossover retains its existing powertrains and overall design following the model’s 2024 facelift.
Darkened styling and new appearance package
The Vezel’s exterior remains largely unchanged, but all versions now feature darkened inner headlight housings for a more aggressive appearance. The e:HEV Z and Play Package grades also receive body-colored finishes for the plastic cladding on the bumpers and wheel arches.
Honda has replaced the previous Urban, Sports, Casual, and Active Style options with the Black Sport Style package. Installed by dealers, the package adds a black grille with a revised pattern, front and rear bumper extensions with black chrome inserts, black exterior mirrors, and a black rear spoiler.
The package also includes a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels with a diamond-cut finish, giving buyers a more distinctive alternative to the standard Vezel appearance.
RS trim expected later
The sportier Vezel RS, which features sharper suspension tuning and more athletic styling, is expected to join the updated lineup later this year. Until then, Japanese customers can choose from the Gasoline G, e:HEV X, e:HEV Z, and Play Package grades.
More standard cabin equipment
The cabin carries over its 7-inch digital instrument cluster and dashboard-mounted 9-inch infotainment display. Honda has added rear climate vents and dual USB-C charging ports as standard equipment across the range.
The e:HEV X now includes heated front seats. Higher-grade Play Package versions can be equipped with a dual-pane panoramic roof, a multi-view camera system, and a 10-speaker audio system.
Unchanged engines and pricing
There are no mechanical changes for 2027. The Vezel continues to use the platform shared with the Honda Fit, known as the Jazz in some markets, and remains available with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine or a 1.5-liter self-charging hybrid system.
The gasoline model is offered exclusively with all-wheel drive and a continuously variable transmission. The e:HEV hybrid can be specified with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
Pricing for the entry-level gasoline-powered Vezel G 4WD starts at ¥2,777,500, equivalent to approximately $17,700. At the top of the range, the Vezel e:HEV Z Play Package with 4WD is priced at ¥3,885,200, or about $24,700.
It has not been established whether Honda will apply the same updates to the global-market HR-V sold in European and Asian markets. The source also indicates that smaller Honda SUVs are not expected to come to North America in the near term, while a possible future return of the Fit hatchback has not been ruled out.
