Alpine has revealed the A310 Vision, a retro-inspired concept that draws heavily from the French brand’s original A310 sports coupe. Although Alpine describes it as a creative exploration of its heritage rather than a production announcement, the concept shares its proportions and architecture with the platform intended for the next-generation A110.
A modern interpretation of the original A310
Built from 1971 to 1984 as a rival to the Porsche 911, the original A310 was known for its low nose, pronounced rear section, and distinctive coupe profile. The A310 Vision reinterprets those themes with a low front end, narrow LED headlights, a prominent splitter, a large bumper, and a sculpted hood.
The concept also features pronounced front wheel arches, silver-and-black wheels, digital wing mirrors, angular side glass, and door panels incorporating a clear element. Its side profile emphasizes the connection to the original car while introducing a more contemporary design language.
At the rear, the concept departs from the original A310’s large rear window. Instead, it uses a substantial aluminum clamshell, along with a pronounced lip spoiler and LED taillights.
Shared platform with the electric A110
Unlike a purely theoretical styling exercise, the A310 Vision was built on Alpine’s Performance Platform, or APP. The same architecture is expected to underpin the next all-electric A110, giving the concept a direct connection to Alpine’s future vehicle lineup.
Alpine has nevertheless stated that the A310 Vision was created as a design exploration and does not announce a future production model. That leaves the extent of its influence on a road-going A310 uncertain.
A new A310 remains in Alpine’s plans
Alpine’s 2030 product plan, announced in mid-2023, included a new four-seat A310 based on the same architecture as the A110. The model later resurfaced through spy shots reported in early 2025, showing a two-door sports car with proportions similar to those of the concept.
The production model’s final design has not been fully established. Earlier reports indicated that the new A310 could arrive as a fastback GT with a 2+2 layout, followed by a convertible version. Whether the A310 Vision’s styling carries over to either model remains unclear.
