Peugeot has used the RCZ Vision concept at this year’s Paris Motor Show to preview its future design direction and an advanced electric-vehicle setup featuring a 1,000-volt system. The low-slung coupe revives the RCZ name used by Peugeot’s Audi TT rival from 2009 to 2015, although production has not been confirmed.

Peugeot is one of four Stellantis brands—alongside Jeep, Ram and Fiat—that will receive 70 percent of the group’s investment going forward. The RCZ Vision provides an indication of how Peugeot could apply that support, combining a new styling language with technologies intended for broader use across the Stellantis portfolio.

New design language and RCZ styling

The concept introduces Peugeot’s “Feline Future” design language, built around the stated principles of freedom, courage, elegance, inner force and instinct. Its interpretation includes a low roof, pronounced shoulders and heavily sculpted side surfaces that give the coupe a broad stance.

A distinctive glass bubble roof recalls the original RCZ, while the battery pack’s slim 4.3-inch, or 110-millimeter, height helps preserve the concept’s low profile. The front bumper also features a micro-perforated RCZ graphic.

Peugeot has reworked its three-claw lighting signature at both ends of the car. On the RCZ Vision, the elements are arranged horizontally, providing a different interpretation of a feature used across the current Peugeot lineup.

Hypersquare steering and revised i-Cockpit

The cabin includes Peugeot’s Hypersquare steering wheel, which has appeared on earlier concepts and is expected to reach the production E-208 next year. Combined with steer-by-wire technology, the system allows less than one steering-wheel rotation between full lock positions at parking speeds. The steering ratio becomes slower as speed rises to support stability.

The concept also updates Peugeot’s i-Cockpit layout. The driver continues to view key information, including speed and remaining charge, over the steering wheel. Additional data can be configured on micro-LED displays, while the central screen can be switched off completely.

Despite its compact, sporty shape, Peugeot says the rear seats are intended to be usable by adults, unlike those in the original RCZ.

Solid-state battery and rapid charging concept

The RCZ Vision uses Stellantis’ STLA One architecture in electric form. The platform was previously described as supporting 800-volt electrical systems and lithium-iron-phosphate batteries, but this concept imagines a more advanced version with 1,000-volt capability and a solid-state battery.

The battery’s size has not been specified. Peugeot lists a 10-to-80-percent charging time of 10 minutes, a claimed range of 373 miles and consumption of 5.39 miles per kWh, equivalent to 11.5 kWh per 100 kilometers. Based on those figures, the source estimates usable battery capacity at approximately 69 kWh.

Peugeot has not committed to producing the RCZ Vision. However, the concept’s design themes, EV hardware, steer-by-wire system and Level 2++ hands-free driving technology are described as elements that will be shared across Stellantis vehicles. Whether the coupe itself reaches production remains undecided.
