Lanzante has showcased the optional High Downforce Kit (HDK) for its 95-59, adding an aggressive aerodynamic package to the bespoke supercar inspired by the McLaren F1. The kit is expected to be offered for each of the 59 customer cars the British firm plans to build.

The 95-59 is based on the McLaren 750S and uses a related carbon-fiber monocoque modified for its three-seat cabin. However, its carbon-fiber bodywork is newly designed, and the HDK gives the car a substantially more dramatic appearance than the standard version.

Extensive aerodynamic revisions

At the front, the package introduces a large carbon-fiber splitter, bigger air intakes, and a revised hood. New door skins and carbon-fiber side skirts alter the profile, while prominent fins extend upward toward the rear wheels.

The rear receives an equally extensive treatment. A carbon-fiber intake scoop extends from the engine compartment to supply cooling air to the engine. The package also includes a large rear wing with substantial uprights, additional fins along the sides, and a carbon-fiber diffuser. Center-lock wheels complete the exterior changes shown by Lanzante.

Powertrain remains unchanged

Despite the HDK’s extensive bodywork, Lanzante says the option does not include powertrain modifications. The 95-59 therefore retains its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, which produces more than 850 horsepower and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm) of torque in the standard car.

The 95-59 was shaped with the involvement of former McLaren designer Paul Howse. Its design includes headlights formed to resemble McLaren’s logo, LED taillights recalling the P1, and rear quarter panels that echo styling used across modern McLaren models.

Lanzante has not disclosed the price of the High Downforce Kit. The standard 95-59 starts at £1,020,000 ($1.34 million) before taxes.
