Toyota is expanding the 2027 Grand Highlander lineup with a new Woodland Edition, adding modest off-road-oriented upgrades, exclusive equipment, and a standard all-wheel-drive hybrid powertrain. The refreshed lineup will reach dealerships later this year.
Grand Highlander Woodland Edition
Based on the XLE trim, the Grand Highlander Woodland Edition receives black exterior accents and badging, along with matte black 18-inch wheels fitted with all-terrain tires. Taller springs increase ground clearance by 0.5 inch, or 13 millimeters.
Additional exterior equipment includes roof rails, LED fog lights, a tow hitch, and mud guards. The Woodland Edition also includes all-weather floor mats and a cargo tray with pop-up dividers.
Inside, a removable second-row cooler and console can hold up to six 12-ounce cans. Other standard features include second-row captain’s chairs, a heated steering wheel, enhanced lighting, and a 120-volt, 1,500-watt power outlet in the second row.
The Woodland Edition is priced at $48,780 and is offered exclusively with all-wheel drive and a hybrid powertrain. Its system combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, a nickel-metal-hydride battery, an electric motor, and an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. Total output is 245 horsepower.
Hybrid Max Platinum receives darker trim
The $60,475 Grand Highlander Hybrid Max Platinum also receives exterior updates for 2027. Chrome, silver, and gunmetal elements are replaced with black trim, while the mirror caps and shark-fin antenna are also finished in black.
The model retains its performance-focused hybrid system, which pairs a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic transmission, a small battery, and a rear electric axle. Combined output remains 362 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.
Other 2027 lineup changes
Toyota is removing the Hybrid Nightshade Edition and Hybrid Max Limited from the Grand Highlander range. The Platinum trim equipped with the turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 265 horsepower, gains new two-tone 20-inch wheels.
XLE versions with either gas or hybrid powertrains add a heated steering wheel and new 18-inch wheels with a dark gray painted finish.
Pricing for the 2027 Grand Highlander lineup starts at $42,560 before a $1,595 destination fee. That represents a $300 increase over the outgoing model.
