A retired Japanese emergency vehicle is offering a distinctive take on the Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Series. The 1997 Land Cruiser GX Fire Command was listed in Georgia for $29,995, with 39,129 miles, a clean Georgia title, and a seller claim that it is rust-free.

The Fire Command designation means the SUV was used by personnel coordinating resources at emergency scenes rather than directly fighting fires. As a result, it does not have a water tank. The seller says its specialized equipment, including the emergency lights, sirens, radio, and intercom, remains fully operational. The vehicle also comes with an authenticated certificate.

Fire service equipment and styling

The Land Cruiser is finished in the red commonly associated with Japanese firefighting vehicles. Its exterior includes a rugged front guard with Land Cruiser lettering, black steel wheels, chrome mirror caps, unpainted bumpers, and body-colored fender extensions. A matching spare-tire cover is fitted to the tailgate.

Additional equipment includes a large roof rack, window rain guards, and roof-mounted emergency lights. Instead of the standard Toyota emblem, the grille carries a flower-shaped badge inspired by cherry blossoms and used by Japanese fire departments.

Inside, the SUV has gray cloth upholstery and seating for seven. The driver’s seatback appears to be missing a cover, but the practical cabin layout remains intact.

Power comes from a naturally aspirated 4.5-liter 1FZ-FE inline-six. The listing does not provide engine output, although the same engine usually produces 212 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque in the 80 Series. Drive reaches all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system.

The Land Cruiser also uses a ladder-frame chassis with coil-sprung solid axles at both ends. The seller, who has owned the SUV for four years, says it was maintained throughout its service life and remains free of rust. The listing price was $29,995.
