A custom 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S 680 designed with NBA legend LeBron James is being offered at Gooding Christie’s Retromobile New York Auctions, with proceeds supporting the LeBron James Family Foundation’s I PROMISE program.

The sedan was created through Mercedes’ Manufaktur personalization program and closely resembles the Maybach S 680 owned by James. Its highly individualized design includes exclusive exterior paint, custom badging, matching wheels, and an extensively tailored cabin.

Exclusive exterior details

The car is finished in non-metallic Light Ivory, a shade offered exclusively through Mercedes’ Manufaktur department. Rather than the standard V12 badges on the front fenders, the sedan carries James’ personal logo. The same Light Ivory color is applied to the wheels.

Inside, Stormy Weather blue Nappa leather covers the front and rear seats, door panels, most of the dashboard, and the transmission tunnel. White contrast stitching adds definition throughout the cabin, while James’ logo appears on the headrest cushions.

A badge on the center console displays the coordinates of Akron, Ohio, James’ hometown. The design closely follows the custom Maybach he personally owns, while adding a direct connection to the community that will benefit from the auction.

Auction proceeds will support Akron students and families

Gooding Christie’s is presenting the Mercedes-Maybach through the LeBron James Family Foundation. Funds raised will benefit the foundation’s I PROMISE program, which supports students and their families in the Akron area.

James said the opportunity to create his own customized Mercedes-Maybach was something he never imagined while growing up in Akron. He added that directing the auction proceeds toward the foundation’s community work was especially meaningful.

V12 power and expected premium

The standard Mercedes-Maybach S 680 carries a starting price of $247,250 in the United States. The auction car is expected to command more because of its connection to James, its Manufaktur specification, and its charitable purpose.

Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 producing 621 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. The combination of bespoke styling and celebrity provenance gives this Maybach a distinct position among high-end luxury sedans.
