Singer Vehicle Design’s latest DLS Turbo demonstrates the extent of its 911 restomod program, combining an extensively reworked Porsche 964 with bespoke bodywork, a custom interior, and a 700-horsepower twin-turbocharged engine.
Every DLS Turbo begins with an original 964. Singer strips the donor car to its bare shell before reinforcing the chassis and fitting carbon-fiber body panels, a redesigned cabin, and a specialized powertrain. The model is conceived as a modern interpretation of Porsche’s 934/5 race car from the late 1970s.
Amethyst exterior with widened bodywork
This example is finished in Amethyst, with extensive changes separating it from a standard 964. At the front, it features a bespoke bumper, carbon-fiber splitter, LED headlights, flared wheel arches, and a custom hood.
The rear design is even more pronounced. Newly shaped quarter panels substantially increase the car’s width, while a large rear wing and carbon-fiber diffuser complete the updated bodywork. The car is also equipped with center-locking magnesium wheels.
Custom cabin details
Inside, carbon-fiber bucket seats are upholstered in Bone leather. Purple, green, and blue tartan material appears across the seats, door panels, and dashboard, giving the cabin a distinctive combination of colors and textures.
A large X-shaped rear cross brace is covered in matching leather, while additional carbon-fiber trim is used throughout the interior.
700-horsepower twin-turbo flat-six
Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six producing 700 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, or 750 Nm. That output is close to the figures associated with the new hybridized 911 Turbo S, although the DLS Turbo uses a different drivetrain layout.
Instead of a hybrid system, the Singer features a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. Those elements remain central to the car’s character while its reworked chassis, carbon-fiber exterior, and bespoke interior take the original 964 in a substantially different direction.
