Japanese aftermarket company Novel has introduced its first body kit for the Lexus GX 550, adding exterior pieces intended to give Lexus’s SUV a sportier and more aggressive appearance on paved roads.
The package focuses on styling rather than off-road performance. Novel’s additions are designed to work with the standard GX 550 bodywork, although the source notes they may be less suitable for the smaller group of owners who regularly take their SUVs off-road.
Front-end additions
The kit begins with a fiberglass chin spoiler that attaches to the factory front bumper. The front lip is priced at $1,560 and is available throughout the lower 48 U.S. states with free ground shipping.
Novel also offers fender ducts positioned behind the front wheels. These components are cosmetic and do not provide cooling or aerodynamic benefits, but they add another styling detail to the GX 550’s front-end profile. They are priced at $930.
Rear bumper and fender pieces
At the rear, an under-spoiler or diffuser mounts over the standard bumper. The component costs $1,500. The factory plastic tow bar cover remains unchanged, however, as Novel has not addressed that part of the SUV’s design.
The final exterior pieces are vertical fender ducts placed beside the taillights. Their positioning is intended to make the GX 550 appear slightly wider, and the set is also priced at $930.
Beyond the body kit, Novel lists several other GX-related accessories. These include pod-style air filters, replacement wheel nuts, a Sard racing steering wheel, and a plug-and-play upgrade for the SUV’s audio system.
