An unregistered 2027 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X has attracted bids exceeding $400,000 at auction, far above the model’s original $296,100 price. The car is being offered on Bring a Trailer and has never been sold to a private owner or registered.
The ZR1X starts at $209,595 as a coupe and $219,595 as a convertible, before options. This example’s total original price reflects an especially extensive specification, helping distinguish it from other cars entering the market.
Carbon-fiber options and revised interior
The car is finished in black with red and black racing stripes. Its equipment includes the $13,000 Carbon Fiber Aero package and optional $16,000 carbon-fiber wheels. Inside, it has mismatched red and black GT2 sport bucket seats.
As a 2027 model, the Corvette also uses the updated interior layout described in the source, including three new screens and a revised tunnel and center console.
Its unregistered status also has an important effect on warranty coverage. Because the car has not been privately sold or registered, it retains the full factory warranty. By comparison, ZR1 and ZR1X models registered and sold during their first 12 months lose all warranty coverage.
1,250 horsepower and all-wheel drive
The ZR1X combines a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with an electric motor and a 1.9-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Together, the system produces 1,250 horsepower and 973 pound-feet of torque, with power delivered to all four wheels.
On a prepared surface, the ZR1X can reach 60 mph in 1.68 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in 8.67 seconds at 159 mph. The source also notes that it out-accelerates a Lamborghini Revuelto and covers the quarter-mile nearly as quickly as a Koenigsegg Jesko, despite the Corvette’s lower starting price than either comparison suggests.
The auction’s final sale price has not been stated in the supplied material, but bidding had already moved well beyond the car’s original sticker price. Its unregistered condition, warranty status and heavily optioned specification appear to be central to the interest surrounding the sale.
