Waymo has launched its robotaxi service in Las Vegas, allowing passengers to request autonomous rides through the company’s app. The initial service covers part of the Las Vegas Valley, including a route along the Strip.

The first operating area extends from Boulder Junction north along Las Vegas Boulevard to Sahara Avenue. Waymo’s vehicles will also serve connections between Spring Valley and Winchester.

Jaguar and Zeekr-Based Robotaxis

The Las Vegas fleet will include Jaguar I-Pace vehicles, which Waymo also operates in other markets. However, most of the robotaxis deployed in Las Vegas are expected to be the Ojai model, built by Zeekr in China and based on the electric Mix minivan.

Passengers can order the vehicles using Waymo’s app, as the company begins its public rollout in the city. Waymo said more than 100,000 people had expressed interest in using its robotaxis before the Las Vegas launch.

Waymo Driver Tested on Las Vegas Roads

Before beginning service, Waymo spent several months analyzing Las Vegas roads. The vehicles use the company’s sixth-generation Waymo Driver, which will handle the city’s traffic environment, including busy streets and heavily populated areas.

Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley described the service as a new all-electric transportation option for residents and visitors. She said expanding cleaner and safer mobility choices would help connect the city’s cultural districts and neighborhood centers while supporting its continued growth.

The launch adds Las Vegas to the cities where Waymo’s autonomous ride-hailing service is operating. The company’s initial coverage remains limited to the specified areas of the city, with rides available through its app.
